why we're adopting

it's the gospel, plain and simple!  Christ came to this earth as God in human form to suffer a death that could reconcile us to God, "even as he chose us in him before the foundation of the world, that we should be holy and blameless before him. In love he predestined us for adoption as sons through Jesus Christ, according to the purpose of his will," (ephesians 1:4-5).  without the work that Jesus did on the cross, we would not be able to have a relationship with God.  the more God refines us, the more he draws our hearts to him, “for those whom he foreknew he also predestined to be conformed to the image of his Son,” (romans 8:29a).  we are increasingly becoming sanctified by Him, conforming to His image, therefore it is our hearts desire to adopt children into our home as our heirs, just as He did for us.
